We have become aware, as part of the userbase of FA (FurAffinity) that our beloved website is down. They have been down for almost 3 days now with no sign of coming back online anytime soon.
According to their post on LJ (another site we frequent):
"Imagine how we feel when our ISP, which supposedly has redundant links, seems to have perennial peering issues.
Pretty much the only way you're going to be getting your wholesome, furry goodness *cough* at this point is by throwing a party in the server room. (And I'd imagine that S&D would take issue with that.)
tl;dr - ISP's shit's broke. Nothing we can do about it. Patience is a virtue. Etc, etc, etc.
PS: I totally just noticed that I haven't done stats in like... two months. Not that I can do it now. Servers are inaccessible. :D

Well, what can I say. Our ISP is still not talking to us. (And I'm sure anyone who is resourceful can dig up who our ISP is.)
Going on 24 hours with no updates. When we know something, we'll post it.
We also have no plans to ask for donations for this problem. Because it won't actually solve the problem, in this case."
Maybe you guys should have thought about redundant servers vs redundant links? Rednudant ISP links means nothing if the issue is on the ISP side, since most ISP issues will knock out the ENTIRE system.
At least with redundant servers, the site is hosting in many locations around the world...on MANY ISP's. So if one ISP gets knocked out, your site stays up.
(On a side note, that could explain how a DDoS can take out FA for days on end. Maybe we just imagined up the problem here??)
Well, on another note. Since our beloved FA may not return for some time, since their ISP refuses to talk to them, how about we offer an alternative.
We know its a smaller site, and runs on a more "basic" backend. But its running on redundant servers (that we don't even have to pay for--think about that FA Staff).
So, our alternative can guarentee more stability and offers much of the same FA does.
Some of our servers (again we don't pay for) also allow adult content. (Something the FA staff "supposedly" had a hard time finding. There's thousands of them on Google.)
That means you can share and post your furry artwork and images, regardless of rating. (Yes, we even want you posting the porn...we like looking at it.)
We allow stories to be shared and commented on.
Chat rooms.
Forums.
Hell, we even have our own e-Mail service and Radio Sation!!
(For those musicians out there, feel free to submit your music to TNSC Radio.)
Let's just run a quck comparison of issues between FA and TNSC this year alone:
FA - 8 issues
TNSC - 4 issues (Since a full site re-build earlier this year)
Back in May of this year. TNSC had a major overhaul done on the site and we moved it from a non-redundant server onto its new redundant servers. Since then, the site has never actually gone down. Parts of it were moved after the old server we moved from shut down completely before we had the chance to grab the rest of the services from TNSC. That only affected the forums. We had a login server issue for the chat room and moved to a more stable system.
As of right now TNSC is fully stable and running without any glitches.
(All of our issues since the rebuild in May have not taken the site offline. Most of FA's issues take the site fully offline.)
We'd say that is a decent track record for a website that only moderated by 2 Active DWS Team Members.
So, you all can wait for FA's eventual return.
(We're not sure how serious FA's staff is about site stability, but we have faith that they at least wake up and go to bed praying the site stays stable--Which honestly is the most we can say about any other webmaster team. We are so serious about site stablity that we have moved sites from unstable servers onto newer ones--a rather large and tedious task, mind you. Hell, that's what TNSC's "rebuild" was all about.)
But while waiting, there is no need to be bored. Feel free to check out The TNSC Community, share your furry artwork and images. (Yes, we allow people to post more than just mere art.) Listen or add to TNSC Radio, join the chats and forums. Let's have a party on TNSC while we wait and see what will happen with FA at the very least. That way the sharing of art doesn't have to stop at FA. (Nor should it solely rely on FA.)

There has also been a modification to the rules for the TNSC Art Contest.
The modification allows anyone to submit any artwork, created either by them, or by anyone else.
The entry form allows users submitting artwork that is not theirs to identify themselves so the artists, and everyone else knows who submitted the art to the contest. The original artists of all art submitted to the contest will retain the full copyright and all rights to their work, regardless of who submits it to the contest.
We made this modification, and updated the year on the dates (apparently the site still thought it was 2008, when it is 2009), in attempt to get more entries into the contests. This can make the contests much more interesting.
Here are the full contest rules:
1a. The art or image can be of anything related to the theme, there are no other requirements.
1b. Any form of art is allowed, including written art and drawings.
2a. Anyone can submit anything related to the theme (even if drawn before the start of the current theme).
2b.Anyone can submit/nominate any artwork, even if drawn by someone else. (Original Artist retains full copyright and all rights to their work.)
3. Users must be 18 to view/submit adult entries.
4. If you see anything in parenthesis (these) in the theme, it is only a personal preference and is not required.
5. Users may also nominate artwork made by other artists using the submit link above.
Winning submissions receive worldwide praise on the TNSC Community News and a spot on our Winners Page. Winning submissions also receive a spot on the TNSC main page for up to 5 months.

TNSC Radio just added a new feature. We have always allowed users to request music from other artists, especially known artists.
We also allowed users to have their own radio shows on TNSC Radio. (Video is welcome.)
Being a website that is based on the celebration of the creations of is visitors, TNSC Radio needed to add a new feature.
We just added said feature. Now users can submit the music they created to be aired on TNSC Radio.
So, now TNSC Radio Listeners can ask to have any artist's work on TNSC Radio through our request page, and we will try our best to get it up. Or those listeners that also make their own music can have it aired on TNSC Radio, along with Radio Shows made and hosted by our users. (Like 2 Sense and Ask Drako)
So, if you make music, submit it to be aired on TNSC Radio. We will broadcast it for you, and even advertise your own website for free.

Baby Helper and 3 Cheese Baby for the Win!!
Yea, he even did this skit during his show at RF 2009 this year, and it was awesome.

It was a good skit, and Mix and myself enjoyed RF for what we didn't miss. What we did miss though, was made up by him making some cash and drawing out con badges. By the way, if any of you got a con badge from Mix Tags this year, post that shit, and link us plese.
By the way, prices on his site are staying lowered. The $2 "con special" badge boost was a good kickoff.
One thing we didn't miss. Alexander James Adams leading the fursuit parade. We were in the corner there by the doors. Mix was drawing con badges...I was watching the parade.

That's right. I am getting on a plane...for the FIRST time ever.
Mix wasn't too sure about heading down south again for the visit, but its been a year since he moved up here. We deserve to at least visit his family. So, we're going to be going down to SC to visit his family for the week after Christmas. When Mix was showing signs of uncertanty, I got on the phone with the family and said it sounds like a good idea, as long as our jobs will let us off for that time.
Guess what?
Both our bosses are awesome.
We got that week off, and will be going to SC.
Sadly, my boss says I owe him big now. (Damnit)
Now if only we had transporters, wed be down there at least once a month for a couple days..hehe.

News from Mix Designs:
My mate has begun offering con badges from his Commission Site. There were a lucky few that found him with SabreWolf at Rainfurrest this year and got themselves his "Con Special" for $2 badges. He began drawing the badges during the con and you should be seeing a few of them coming online in a bit here. Since the originals for the con badges went straight to their owners at the con, we have no way of showing you the work he did for them. However, he also did his own badge, which I have scanned in for him. He should be uploading it to FA soon. He will make the badges to fit your current badge holders, all you have to do is tell us the dimensions.
Post-con Special from Mix Designs:
We have decided to reduce the prices of his sketch commissions and add-ons by 50%. We have decided to try the lower rates after some success of him offering badges at RainFurrest this year, and due to the lack of orders for commission slots. We are hoping the lower rates will attract new commissions for him to do. For now, we are calling it our "Rush for Christmas Sale." Though we may decide to keep the lower rates around for a while.

Alright, not wanting to issumate a shit ton of drama here...but perhaps this is my feeble attempt to dissumate it.

It's the Fur "Famed" clip from the Tyra Banks Show "Is your sex life normal?"
I have some thoughts here, and those ranting asshole furs need to listen up...or I WILL pull out my furrie hunting gear and start decimating furry body parts and making sure those aforementioned asshat furries are no longer able to BREED.
(That's a muzzle full coming from an open minded Fur)
For those of you bitching and whining about "OMG Now the General Public thinks were all freaks and its all about us having sex in fursuits." I am shooting out giant mothballs out of my SHUT THE FUCK UP cannon. IF you DON'T want to be considered a FREAK, LEAVE THE FUCKING FANDOM. But if you want to stay, GROW SOME FUCKING BALLS!!
The Tyra Banks Show was FOCUSING on "Strange" sexual behavours. So it was only in line to include Furries and the CONCEPT of Fursuit Sex.
As for our furry guests on the show. They may not have been fully aware that the show was going to focus on the SEXUAL aspects of the furry fandom, and the general misconception that "All furries have sex in fursuits."
Matter of fact, the furry guests did NOT openly bring up the sexual aspect of the furry fandom, but instead spent a long time pulling out what we all consider the general aspect of what a furry is. In retrospect, they did their job - albeit in the wrong setting - to ATTEMPT to get the general populace of non-furs to understand that it's NOT all about sex in fursuits. (I should know, my sex consists of animal noises...and no fursuit-specially since I DON'T own one.)
Sadly, they were lead (or even forced) to talk about the fursuit sex that DOES happen within the fandom. And NO FUR CAN DENY THAT!!! They were even asked how fursuit sex works. How people can have sex in these costumes. (It WAS the FOCUS of the SHOW.)
Sure, the show used the general "Furries have sex in costumes" idea. But, thats only because that is a highly popular general misconception of what a FURRIE REALLY IS. It's only what the outsiders take in from the fandom.
Mind you, those outsiders may think its kinky and/or a strange sexual act. They may even think its deranged, but one thing Tyra DID do was help clear up that it is NOT beastality. OF course you must also consider that even though some outsiders may look disgusted at the concept in public, they are privately being turned on by the idea. (Which is generally the case in shows like this.)
So before you try taking our two new famous furs and sticking their head on PIKES. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A FUCKING SECOND. THEY WERE TRYING TO HELP, BUT GOT HINDERED BY THE FOCUS OF THE MEDIA THEY USED. Our media today is HIGHLY sexualized and loves to FOCUS on strange sexual acts because ITS POPULAR. PEOPLE ACTUALLY ENJOY SEEING IT!!!
If you watch the above clip with an open mind, you would see no reason to bitch. You would congradulate our friends on being able to get onto TV. And most of all, you wouldn't BE TRYING TO SHUN THEM OUT OR TEAR OFF THEIR GENITALS. In my eyes, only the furs that are actually GUILTY of and ASHAMED of the sexual aspects of what a furry is...and what furries can, and WILL do in bed...are the ones trying to shun these two people. Who in reality, covered that furry is a celebration of our inner animals, and NOT just in the sexual way.
Get your heads out of your asses and grow some fucking balls people.

So, I've grounded myself.
Let me explain why:
When Mix and myself first go together, there were no problems with either of us doing any online RP, considering we agreed that only he and myself would do things with each other IRL.
Sadly, the RP's led to the temptation for me to even remotely allow other people to consider the possibility of RL action, simply by me letting them talk about what they would do with me if they could get to me. Not only did I let them talk about it, I played the ruse and led them to think they may have had a chance....even though I wanted it to be VERY clear that nothing could happen with other people unless Mixy approved, which he won't. So, I was trying at some points to make it very clear that nothing would ever happen to these people, and making it a little less clear at other points by even talking to them and letting them dream and tell me what theyd want to do with me. (If that makes any sense to anyone, let me know...I just confused myself.)
I usually would let them talk, and talk back about how fun it could be...but usually I'd tell them later on (most the time right after the talk) that it would not happen because I am in a closed relationship. Either way, I still led them on to a degree. Mix found this by reading a couple of my IM logs.
After that, Mix stopped RPing altogether, and was starting to make hints that he didn't like the idea of me RPing either. It was because it did lead to some very stupid and bad decisions of mine to make. He had a reason to distrust my online actions, and to worry that I'd really fall to temptation.
So, I've grounded myself from Instant Messengers, and have deleted all my networking site profiles--which I really didn't need in the first place. (Hell, I deleted my Pounced Ad after Mix agreed to be my mate. Mix still has his Pounced Ad up.)
Now, I am aware of my mistake. I cannot let myself get back to that, ever. So, I made a recent post saying I most likely will never get back onto my instant messenger accounts. However, Mix has also been made aware that it seems as though he is trying to isolate me from the many "friends" I do (or did) have.
Now, personally--people who only talk to me because they want to get into my pants...does not equate true friendship. An occasional RP among friends who do talk to each other about more than just sex shouldn't be considered a bad thing either. However, RP can lead to bad temptations.
So, I decided, hastily, in my last post that I won't log back on without Mixy saying it's ok first. I am hoping that he does before the end of the year. Otherwise, I am changing the terms so that I will be back on my messengers by the end of the year. As for RP--Don't think about it. Maybe later on it can be approved by Mix, once he knows he can trust me again...but until then, I won't actively take any part in RP.
If I do get back into RP, I will NOT let myself fall back into that temptation of even remotely allowing someone to think they have a chance IRL. As long as Mix and I are together, it will be a closed relationship. There will be no exceptions, and I will not lead anyone into thinking there are.
Now a question to those who at least halfway pretend to care about me and my life. I plan on staying grounded either until the end of the year, or until Mixy says its ok to log back in--whichever happens first. But if you had the say on when you think I would have truly learned my lesson and its safe for me to log back on, when would you say would be the date that I can?
My official grounding will end on January 1, 2010. Until then I will only be on The DWS Team's AIM Account. (www.drakows.tk)

So, Mix and myself were looking to head to RainFurrest.
The thing I'm curious is if anyone out there that knows us will be going.
If so, anyone have floor space we can crash on?
I know, extremely short notice and shit - but I wasn't sure we'd be going because of the way Mix has been acting and getting jealous over my online conversations. He told me today to make up my mind if we were going or not, saying that he's open to the idea. So, the only thing stopping us is getting the time off, and getting a room.
So, if any of our friends is willing to let us crash on the floor or something, we'd totally appreciate it.
Though a few things should be made clear:
1. We are in a closed relationship, so we will only be yiffing each other.
2. If we play in the room, we won't stop other roomates from being in the room and/or letting us watch. (Hell, I don't mind an audience as a bottom.)
3. We don't mind nudity, and are pretty close to naked in our home, regardless of whos there usually.
4. I am also a DL, and might end up wearing a diaper -- or being padded up by another AB/DL.
If you are cool with this, let me know if you don't mind us with you.
If we don't find a room, we may not be there as much, if we do go.
If our friend who does embroidery decides to go, she can drive us there each day from home. (She is also on list for doing the con jackets.)

Firstly, we need a theme song for the begining of each show, and we also need show length music.

Now is the perfect time to order custom embriodered jackets for fall and winter time!!!

We can get you a custom jacket for around $250.
$250 would cover a full back embroidery on jackets and shirts.
The jackets themselves are lightweight, thin, but very well insulated. They only cost $70.
The embroidery itself would be anywhere between $50-$100.
You can also do a left chest logo-sized setup for $50-$100, depending on the artwork.
She can do custom names for anywhere between $7.50-$10.
It's best to send her camera ready or vector art, since it will take less time to digitise and get it setup for the machines.
There are also discounts available for multiple items.
She is now offering her services to the furry community. She can embroider anything from jackets, shirts, pants, hats and even underwear (if you so desire embroidered undies).
Now heres the big thing, she will ask for a minimum deposit around $50-$75 to get the jacket (or other clothing article, though its cheaper to start with the jackets) and get setup to start work. She will not deliver the product until the work is paid for in full.
Now heres a little into why she needs help. Her old shop, Custom Monograms by Cheri, went into bankruptcy and she's had to move all her stuff to try to get back into business. However, due to lack of work, she has been unable to get the rent paid to her landlord. She literally has until friday before he evicts her and starts to illegally sell all her stuff and equipment, worth over a million dollars--just to make up for a few thousand that she owes on rent.
She would love to get back into full swing, and felt it would be nice to get into the furry community and offer fully custom embroidered clothing to furries. She will do pretty much anything-within some level of reason.
She is currently working on a jacket for myself and her work quality is the best. She has been known largely for her embroidery work and quality.

Alright..for a bit of clarification.
My last post stated I wouldn't be yiffing near as much...and certainly not doing it with those who begged for it.
It also stated I no longer am holding any online relationships, including master/pet ones-which were the only ones I still had at the time.
Now it's time for some clarification.
As of well...NOW. I have figured out that my poor mate has been getting worried and upset over what little yiffing-compared to before-I have been doing online.
He has been getting rather jealous and worried I would run off or something. So I made a deal.
It wont be easy for me...since I have grown used to playing around online, but I made a promise to my mate. A promise I intend to work my ass off trying to keep.
I will no longer yiff ANYONE for ANY REASON at ANY TIME. No more RP's for me, simple as that. (Unless you wanna fight, but no sex.)
The only RP's I'd prolly get involved in now will be between me and him (on the TNSC Forums), or mild RP's that won't include sex. I will also do sci-fi and battle RP's, as I did in the past-but am no longer that good in battle.
In other words, there will be no more yiff from me...END OF DISCUSSION.
On the other hand, he and I agreed it won't be as bad if I'm only watching (or moderating) chats that have sex going on in them (like the chats on TNSC - www.tnsc.hu.tc). But I cannot get invlolved anymore, it makes him worry and get upset over it.
So, seriously, no more yiff from me.
Now, Mix may slowly become ok with it later on...so I wont say this is indefinate. But for the forseeable future, any and all yiff is a no-go from me. Head to TNSC to find other people to play with. I might be there watching (to make sure noone breaks the rules).
In other news, DWS has just spent the past couple of weeks moving sites and reconcildating servers. We had to begin moving sites since one of our servers went unstable for a short period of time. The server is now stable again, and we began a reconsilidation process. However, in the process, 4 sites have been shut down as well.
We totally would love to work on sites for people, so check out our site at www.dws.uk.tc. We are not going anywhere.
